Easter weekend

Easter is truly one of my favorite times of the year. What Easter means to me goes beyond the bunnies and chicks and peeps and chocolate. Now, while I do enjoy most of those baby animals or candy, Easter is all about who makes life possible and that is Jesus Christ.

He was crucified and died for our sins. And then, He did what no one else has done or could do: He was resurrected!

Because He conquered, I know that the grave has no victory.

Some of you might have seen a movement called, #BecauseofHim floatin around the internet?
I saw the awesome short video that was simple yet so profound. It has made me think all week all the blessings that are in my life, because of Him.

Because of Him, I belong to a wonderful family. and someday, my family can be reunited again in Heaven. Because of Him, I gain strength through my weaknesses and challenges I face in this life. Because of Him, I have so much hope for the future and comfort knowing I am never alone.

I was blessed to have the company of my cousin Richard and a few friends stop by for a visit throughout Saturday. It was nice, because it was a good distraction for me to take my mind off the worries of the world. I love how positive and loving my friends and family are. They are always there for me and help me, without knowing they are helping me (and sometimes they really do, like run errands for me!) It's so great to have them in my life.

Then on Easter Sunday, I went to Sacrament meeting at Church and came home early to visit with my dad, stepmom, brother and sister. The Easter bunny did in fact visit me and gave me cute and yummy treats (but I didn't take a picture of it all) :( but I more importantly did some good photos with my family! Plus, my stepmom did my nails (she's an awesome nail tech)! so yay for pretty french tips! I always love spending time with any of my family or good friends! It was special because my dad gave me a nice, red journal that had belonged to my grandpa Henry. He didn't write anything in it, but I will always cherish it and will definitely fill it up with my life's adventures and thoughts.

I then ended my night watching the Hallmark movie, "In My Dreams." Did any of you catch that Sunday night? Or do you like Hallmark movies? I am a sucker for them and almost all of them made me cry, but not this one! haha.

Overall, it was a good Easter weekend. I hope all of you got to spend time with your loved ones and had fun, in however you may celebrate :)

Oh it feels so good to be back to blogging today!!

I know it's tuesday, but I want to talk about my Easter weekend. 

On saturday, two friends of mine: shawn & steph (bro & sister) came over. We hadn't seen each other in 6 years! I met shawn & his family when he and I were 12 years old! Their family lived right around the corner [literally] from my dad's house. We had rubio's for lunch & just had a blast catching up and taking pictures. Also, Shawn, who is a computer whiz, cleaned up my laptop a bit and ran scans since I obviously don't know exactly what I am doing. 

Easter Sunday, the day Jesus Christ was resurrected is such a holy, amazing day in my faith. I mean, a man who died for humanity rose from the dead by the divine power of God! AMAZING!

My dad, stepmom and sister came over for a visit then. I am 30 years old and I still happily receive an easter gift from the easter bunny aka Janet, hehe. 

Brother bubba had to work til 8pm that's why he couldn't make it. We had a good time and us girls laughed because my dad totally fell asleep on the couch, poor dad, so tired.

Then yesterday, my mom came over! She has a few days off from work. We and James headed to Ross where my mom bought me a new navy blue & green maxi dress and a tank tunic ( in the future for What I Wore Wednesdays).  After Ross, we went to Target so i could return some yoga capri's I had gotten a couple weeks ago because they were too big and needed on size smaller which they happened to go on sale sunday for $12, originally $15...so yehhh! I then had jack in the box for dinner: sausage croissant & peach tea, why thank you.

Happy Easter everyone!! Hope you are enjoying the day with your loved ones! My day has been filled with peace, watching/helping the little ones hunt for easter eggs, ham,  taking pictures & calling my family, texting friends! I am donning a new dress that my mama got me from target and i love it! it fits me so well and i love the cut off it too. I want more dresses like this one but in different colors and patterns! I've added bright yellow sunflower earrings w/it also from target!

I am sorry i've been MIA as my internet was out for nearly two weeks. We had to get a new router and as of yesterday afternoon, I am back in business blogging, social networking and replying to emails!! yay!! I also can't wait to do more makeup videos and give some makeup product reviews! It feels so good to be back! I've missed you all!

I'd also like to say WELCOME & HELLO to my new readers! :) In my absence, i've discovered new lovelies following me on hellocotton and I can't wait to get up to date & comment on their blogs as well!

When I think of Easter, i think of how Christ lives! He died and was then resurrected three days later, what a miracle! Because of his life and his sacrifice, I am alive today! enjoy the song below:
