to love the journey

I think it takes a brave person to love the journey they are on, especially if it feels like it's a rocky one. We are called to keep our faith and pray at all times, whether it's good or whether it's not so good...something i need to work on! One thing is for certain throughout our lives and that is God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever!

Circumstances and feelings change like the wind, but oh how good it is that God is constant and never changing! Some days I feel energetic, happy and my day is purposeful... and then some days or moments, i feel irritable, tired and like i don't know where i am going! God is the rock upon which i stand. The fire is reignited to love my life, my journey, no matter what, because IT IS a gift from the Lord. He has placed me "here" for a reason and I want to answer the call for His purposes!

Hebrews 13:8,
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

We all know that I love to talk about my faith journey and I felt an instant connection with a new blog friend of mine, Danette of All My Love for all My Days who also is loving the journey she is on. This gorgeous lady writes such encouraging posts and her faith inspires me to deepen my walk with Christ! Her notes from jackson, written from the perspective of her fur baby crack me up!! I can tell she's in love! She also shares hot rockin' nail art ideas that she likes! Who doesn't like jazzing up their nails pretty? i wish i could do some of these looks but i'm not that talented lol.

{MEET DANETTE}

Danette loves God and loves people.  She's on the pastoral team at Cathedral of Praise in Sand Springs, Oklahoma,  but loves to blog and craft and cook and decorate in her "free time." "I love working with my students from youth.  They are like my friends and kids all at the same time."  For Danette, these students are her joy.  She would never tell them to their faces but she will always love them and she brags on them non stop, but only behind their backs.  They do have to stay humble.

Danette writes of her blog, '"All My Love for All My Days" is really a journey in love.  There is so much of life that God has given us.  Even the struggles are gifts from God because He uses them to teach us more about His character.  All I want to do with my life is show Christ's love for humanity, to love the journey, and to share my love of the journey with you.

I thought we'd do a little Q & A with Danette to get to know her a little bit better.
After reading, i'm sure you'll want to be friends so go check out her blog and say hello & tell her i sent ya!
Or find her at her above social links! You may also want to stick around to the end of this post for a nice surprise! *wink *wink!

1.Why do you blog and when did you start blogging?
Originally, I started blogging as a way to keep the volunteers of my team at work up to date.  (In the real world I'm a Creative Arts Pastor at a church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.)  After a long break from blogging, I discovered that I missed the creative outlet.  So, I changed the name of the neglected blog to "All My Love for All My Days" and found a source of friendship and joy.

 2. What color represents you (your spirit, style, personality, etc) and why?
I personally think that one color might not represent my me, but I do think that a palette might. :)  I love natural colors.  I think that they are so peaceful.

3. What was the last book you read? Do you even like to read? lol
Besides the Bible?  That would have to be "The Hunger Games."  Love that series.  And I love reading books and magazines.  I just don't quite always get the chance.

 4. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink?
Diet Coke.  No more explanation needed.

 5. Up to this moment in your life, who has impacted it the most and why?
My parents are by far the most influential people in my life.  They raised me to love God and love people.

6. if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you like to go?
I love seeing fun, romantic places.  I would love to go to Rome and Israel, but I would also love to live in Hawaii, California, New Mexico, or Arizona.

-------------------------------------
Oh danette, we could be neighbors in Arizona!? lol. I would love to be able to travel to Rome too! And one more thing, Danette is graciously giving away a $10 Starbucks giftcard to one lovely reader! gah, i wish i could win, you know i love my fraps!!

friday's letters #dos

it's friday evening and i've just eaten dinner. we had meatloaf, green beans and potatoes..oh yum! I also had myself a cup of iced coffee this afternoon, thanks to Noel for the inspiration ;) we are like on the same page! no pun intended lol. Oh and did i tell you I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird? Are you reading anything currently? what are you reading?

i'm gonna write this post and then go watch Amanda's vlog about things we've all probably thought about (i have!) and what really matters in blogging. I want to be like her in blogging for good! Using our influence for good. I think I am doing a swell of a job so far?

Dear nap, oh it was sooo nice! I've been on the go and out & about this past week and it was just nice to stay home and kinda not do anything. I needed you. i was plain tired.

Dear java-chip-frap-light-with-half-the-chips, you were delicious! I like the little crunch you provide with the chocolate chips & blended ice. you're just sweet enough for me and even though i don't order you often, you're still one of my faves.

Dear God, Thank you for hearing my prayers. I am so glad that you are always there for me, whether i am giddy or feeling low about myself, i can feel your care and comfort. Also, thank you for watching over my loved ones, they mean so much to me.

Dear sparklers, you provided cheap entertainment and made my 4th of july night. I felt like I was a part of harry potter's gang. I channeled my inner Hermoine.  you sparkle so pretty.

Dear mom, you make me laugh. I am sorry about "pancake's" prob last night lol. we'll talk this weekend. i love you.

Dear Christina, I am so glad we became friends! more like sister-friends! dontcha think? I love girl talk and your positive attitude! Distance doesn't matters, it's all heart-to-heart.

Dear lady at the mall, you def have the light of Christ in you. Thank you for your kind words even though you scared me when you patted my shoulder. sorry i jumped! I don't know your name, but a smile is sent your way.

Dear HL, HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you're having an amazing day! I look forward to seeing you & our friend next week after your trip! We'll have lots of fun! You're a beautiful person and a wonderful friend! Cheers to many more!

Happy Birthday America! All across the land we love, we celebrate you, our freedoms and individuality!

sunday's stuff

Well well well...sorry i haven't been around, my social calendar has been full since thursday. I am just a social butterfly!

SO this weekend...
i had SUCH a great day with my mama yesterday out shoppin! I was a little perturbed that the lady at Ulta didn't inform me that i was like 50 cents away from a $15 total so I COULD HAVE USED my $5 off $15 purchase coupon....HELLO!!! I calculated my purchases, but one of the nail polishes i got rang up at 1.99 instead of 2.99, that's why i was under $15...oh well!! Next time i will ask/check the cashier.

I FINALLY got the book, To kill a mockingbird by Harper Lee. I've never read it and am up to chapter 5. I am enjoying it already and surprised that in the first chapter or two there was foul/derogatory language! But the young narrator of the story, Scout, cracks me up. I have literally laughed out loud at least twice.

Oh and do you recognize this fellow??
It's george washington!! I spotted him as we went to eat on thursday after seeing, Snow white & the huntsmen and this time he had a couple friends visiting with him! I hadn't seen him in over two months, but he was in the exact same spot as where i first met him! It seemed to have taken him a minute to remember me, but he did and was asking me all kinds of questions. We chatted for a few and i told him i'd make a copy of this picture and give it to him next time i'm at the mall and hope to spot him again.

Elisa and i each got a pretty scented item @ victoria's secret for cheap, thanks to their semi-annual sale. We are headed back to the mall later this week for more bargain shopping, time to start Christmas shopping now when things are discounted more than 50%!! I am one of those people that has 50% of their shopping done by Decemeber 1st.

I just don't like to be in a hurry and wait last minute, plus it's quite time consuming wrapping, putting together packages, making handmade Christmas cards (usually for my immediate family), making handmade cards for customers AND writing/addressing store bought Christmas cards to loved ones. Little by little i say. When do you start christmas shopping? Do you send Christmas cards too? Some of you probably don't even want to think about Christmas yet lol, which reminds me, I am participating in Christmas in July and im sooo excited! my swapper blogger's name is Britta of the boots parade. I can't wait to get to know her! I love her name too! I've been spying on her blog, well not really, since she knows i am her swapper blogger lol.

Another thing,
Do you believe in half-birthdays? I do! My cousin S makes fun of me because i get excited about my half birthday and i told my mom yesterday about July 14th-my half birthday and she chuckled that that was funny that i count that day as special! So since it's officially the month of July, the countdown is on for the 14th of July!  In honor of celebrating birthdays (and maybe that day or this month is YOUR actual birthday or half birthday?) and the awesomeness that we each hold, i'll be having a little giveaway just for kicks so you can celebrate with me. Sound like fun? I think so!

I just got my toes did. they are a melon color. the ulta color is called peach parfait. I like it much. my 'stylist'  <----it's a joke (there's no way i could afford a stylist lol),  sofia, polished my nails and also curled my hair earlier today, making me pretty.

I also want to say how sometimes the best things come at the most unexpected moments! God is so good and my heart is happy for the future, even when things in life aren't perfect.

That is all for now. happy rest of the weekend.
