a spooktacular party!

It's Hall-O-Ween!!! Happy day to eat as much candy as you want and give a trick or treat! :) Are you taking your kids trick-or-treating? Are you dressing up? Or did you go to a party last weekend?

So as I mentioned last week, I was a ninja turtle.
Michelangelo to be exact, but the girl version, ya know. Here I am! Turtle power. There is special thanks to K who sewed my eye band that you'll see a bit later. I only managed to wear it for a bit over an hour before it started to bother me. Future reference: don't pick a costume that requires a mask.

I went to some friend's halloween party saturday. My gal pal Amanda went as Snow White! She was the best Snow. Her and our friend K made each other costumes! They both turned out so awesome. K went as the best Annie!

About an hour before we left to the party, Amanda came over and I did her makeup. I am pretty satisfied with how her makeup came out. She showed me a photo from pinterest which was where we got inspiration for her "look" and she looked beautiful!

Amanda and her three roommates (the sanderson sisters) were the hosts of this fabulous bash. The party was a success with a great turn out. My guess is there were at least 50 people there! Some people had some really great costumes like, Jesse from Toy Story, John Wayne, Benny from the Sandlot and Tinkerbell to name a few.

Look at these amazing "bloody glass" cupcakes made by K! They look so real, but don't worry, they are completely edible. The girls did a great job with the decorations too!

 

It was a totally rad night!

what i wore wednesday: fuchsia & black

I came across a site that was selling maxi skirts for $12 with free shipping last week and I had to jump on that! I really wanted the burgundy skirt but they were all sold out so I went with this fuchsia skirt. Ladies, it's so comfortable. I mean, almost every maxi skirt I have is comfortable. Wouldn't you agree?

I cannot for the life of me remember the site I got this skirt from. All i know is that it's made in the U.S.A. I bought this skirt because I am planning ahead as I am pretty sure most of my "cute" church outfits will involve a maxi since exposed legs in the winter will not be my cup of tea.

Today, I paired it with my black tee and a few accessories.

sunday style

Wow guys! what a weekend! My days have been filled to the brim since thursday! So I said I was going to make pumpkin muffins with my mom on saturday, but that didn't happen because I just ran out of time...so probably sometime this month I'll be baking those and another treat and THEN i will share pictures and a recipe.
 
So Sunday, I buckled down and went to church even though I was quite tired from the night before. I went to some friend's halloween party saturday. Oh it was so fun and I will totally write about that event on Thursday..what better day than on Halloween!

Amanda and I sort of matched again and we didn't even plan it! Look at us fresh faced beauties!

Our shirts both have lace sleeves! love that!

 And then in Sunday school, just being a little silly :)

Sunday evening, about an hour after I got home from church, I had a few friends come over. Arwa was in town for work and her sister Wa & her bf Tum live here in the valley and they three came to visit me. I haven't seen Wa & Tum in six years! It was SO nice to visit with them for a few hours. They brought me dinner from Rubio's and a few other treats. Me, Arwa and Wa used to hang out all the time. Us girls met in college in around 2002. I will always cherish their friendship! I missed them all.

To get you in the it's the weekend mood!

Today and tomorrow are jam packed and im just excited! You're gonna wanna peek at the end of this post. Promise! I am heading to do a little shopping with my pal amanda. We're gonna get her some makeup so I can do her makeup on saturday for the halloween party we'll be attendjng!...IN COSTUME! Have I shared what I am gonna be? oh, no, you say? well, I am gonna be a girl ninja turtle!!!!

so back to the makeup...amanda asked me to do her makeup and then that same week, Linda, one of my caregivers, asked if I could do her makeup on halloween! I was like, Okay! Yeh! I feel so honored and special that they asked me. I haven't done someone else's make up in like 5 months. I always get a little nervous beforehand, but it's a good nervous. I just love being able to be creative with color and build upon their beautiful, natural parts of their face, like playing up their eyes perhaps.


I will def take pics on saturday of makeup and costumes and post them next week! I think once my costume is all put together it's gonna look pretty dang awesome!!

And then saturday, my dear mama is coming over wtih lunch for us and we're gonna bake pumpkin chocolate chip muffins!! I haven't baked with my mom in yearrrsssss! So this will be great bonding time and something fun for us to do together. I know my mom enjoys baking, so it'll be nice, since she usually doesnt' have time for it. The recipe and how the muffins turn out, i'll post about next week too. Mmm, pumpkin, yumm.

Happy Monday everyone! Hope your day has been swell so far and that your weekend was even better :)

On saturday, I got to hang out with my friend Elisa for shopping day! We went to bath & body works to utilize a couple coupons, one being for a free travel size care lotion or shower gel, completely free! Of course, I ended up spending $8 more than planned there, because I bought one of those wallflower plug-ins. Their bulbs were on sale for $3 (not sure how much they are normally) and I had to get one in "pumpkin cupcake!" I got that same scent in the mini candle for free a few weeks ago and just died over it, but sadly I can't light candles in my room, so the wallflower is the next best solution! My room smells so fall-ish now and really helps me feel in a giddy mood about Fall time, my favorite.

We also stopped by Walgreens and got some good deals, like aquafresh extreme clean toothpaste for $1. Yes, I sure did! I also got suckered into a pretty good promo for Revlon lip products that I couldn't resist. And because I don't really need two new lip butters, I want to give one away in hopes of treating someone with a new lip color to spruce up their makeup bag!
